He pulled up in his black SUV, the metal shining in the bright sunlight. He wore red bathing suit shorts, and had a simple white teeshirt over it. He would eventually take it off. His hair was a mess like always, but didn't look bad. with little waves on the end naturally. He had his black sunglasses on, and his life saving device was in the back. He unbuckled and reached behind to grab it, along with his black whistle. He didn't mind his job really. Sitting on the beach all day long, saving people, it really was alright. He opened the door and jumped out, revealing black flip flops as well. He took a deep breath and closed the door, locking it and stepping out onto the sand. He checked in, then went to his post. He threw his float up onto the tower and slipped off his shirt, revealing a well toned abdomen and muscles, along with extremely tan skin. It was from being outside all of the time. One couldn't tell he had just come out of a serious depression for a reason that was all his own, and he looked perfectly happy. Except for that faraway look in his eyes, but the sunglasses covered it anyway. There was a slight breeze, so at times he was cooled from the harsh sun rays, but other then that, he sat down in the sand and watched the swimmers, making everything was okay. It was a slow day today, and he kind of wished he had someone to talk to.

Ebony sandals clicked against the sole of her foot with each growing step, Ivories flashing a thankful smile to the man who drove her here. Misty blue hues trailed slowly across the sandy depths of the beach, mirrors matching the tint of the salty liquid that crashed against the terrain. Eager movements halted momentarily as a rowdy bunch of teens brushed by her bodice, visionaries flashing back to them once her strides continued. Full pink lips parted in a friendly smile towards a staring male, ignoring the fact that he was nearly gaping. His cheeks flushed a faint crimson because she had noticed him, surf board tucked neatly beneath her muscled bicep, opposite hand altering her grip on the handle of her suitcase.
Toes were painted over with a baby blue polish, fingernails overcoated with the same color, Toned arms tossed her luggage aside once the brim of her sandal connected with the silky sands. Fingertips cluched her board and planted it firmly in the soil, shifting to strip her torso of the baby tee and reveal a tropical bikini that matched her board shorts. Abdomen was covered in a nice even tan, stained orbs cascading over the rippling waves of the ocean, feet slipping out of her velvety flip flops and onto the warmed sand. Palm curled around the board in one swift motion, tendons bounding her for the life filled water.
Glee filled her once dry optics once her skin collided with the liquid, legs lifting from the water and onto her board once it managed to rose to her knee. Imaginary webs between her fingers helped her board accel, the nose diving beneath the surface each time a wave came rolling towards her, slipping beneath the tumbling current. Slender frame was at a safe distance away from the crusty earth before her bod suiveled around, board lifting with the powerful wave that began to curl behind her, arms helping her along. The drop from the peak of the wave unsuccessful, resulting in a bail from the board, tanned bodice easily engulfed by the crystalling ocean. Crainium crached against the course surface of a reef, an open sore created as her eyes fought to remain open as the salty contents stung the surfaces.
Cord that connected her ankle to the board wrapped dangerously around a misshaped rock, remaining there as life began to drain from her still fighting bod. Fingertips curled around the string and tugged, releasing enough slack for her to return to the crisp air for a breath before she was sucked beneath once more. She had been in this situation several times before, training her lungs to be prepared for such accidents but she had not yet encountered one where she began to fear for her life. She prayed that the young life guard upon the stand had witnessed her fall, multiple air bubbles sliding from her nostrils as her lungs deflated completely, the sound of waves that echoed through her ears began to grow more distant was she was thrown deeped into the salty ocean.

Eyes soon were covered by a dark pair of sunglasses, helping sheild them from the sun. His watchful gaze looked around the beach once, and then again, surveying for anything out of the ordinary. He saw the young woman going into the water, along with the men that stared after her. She was pretty, but he would never gape. It was rude and almost perverted at some points if it got out of hand. But Chase sat quietly, looking to where some young kids were playing safely in the shallows, to the surfers who were riding the heavier surfs. Some crashed, and some got a really good ride in. He missed surfing, it had been one of his favorite passtimes before he came here and before his past became tragic. He couhged slightly and then slipped his sunglasses off, putting them on the bench. His hat was placed firmly on his head and he looked out over the ocean once more.
The girl that had been surfing was there no longer. The sirf board was seen crashing through the surf. His heart raced and he stood, taking his binoculars and seeing a head peer above the water before being dragged under once more. In an instant, he grabbed his life saving device and jumped down, taking off at a maddening sprint to the waters, his whistle blowing just in case there were others around. People looked and stood, sheilding their eyes and being nosy. Chase strung the strap across his chest and dove into the shallows, coming up and swimming strongly to where he last saw the woman. He didn't see her and he paused for a moment, unsure of where she coucld be. He took a deep breath and closed his mouth, disappearing under the surface. His eyes looked around quickly, trying to see through the water, if that was possible. A colorful print caught his eye and he burst forward, kicking out easily and swimming quickly. His orange float bobbed upon the surface, the string getting longer and longer as he went down. He saw her, seeing her laying there lifelessly and her mouth open. He grunted slightly from his lesseing breath and he came in contact with her skin, wrapping his arms below her arms, holding her back against his front. He pushed off from the rock and then was instantly dragged back down. Bubbles came from his mouth as he opened it, and he went back down, now worrying for her life. He saw the string and went into the pockets of his shorts, finding his knife. He struggled with it to open it, and finally got it open, looking at the string and cutting through it to free her. Her body started up to the surface and he took hold of her again, pushing off and swimming strongly.
Once he came up and took a breath, he wrapped her arms around the device. "Stay with me, alright? We're almost there..." He doubted she could hear him, but he needed to try and communicate with her. The current helped push them into shore and he swam when it pushed them back out, finally reaching bottom and running out with her and laying her softly on the sand, away from the water. Seeing no movement from her chest, he cleared her face from her hair and the water. He looked at her for a moment and placed both his hands on her chest area, pushing once and then letting go, one hand on her chin and then closing her nose a bit, then putting his mouth over hers, breathing air into her and hoping it would revive her. He pushed her chest again, counting to five in his head. A small crowd gathered and he saw the lights of an emergency vehicle coming. He breathed air in to her again and once more pushed on her chest.

Adrenaline failed to be released into her veins, the dangerous event occured and her bodice was unprepared. Energy fled her wrangled frame, the situation replaying before her closed eyes as it had the last time she whiped out. Taste buds on her tongue twitched at the strong salts that rolled across them, figure limp as it drifted deeper into the ocean. Lungs felt as if they wrinkled from lack of oxygen to replenish them, past empty only to be replaced from ocean water as she began to flail beneath the surface. She inhailed the blue liquid, attempting to cough with no results, eyelids slowly closing over her crystalline hues as energy continued to fade from her body. Foot kicked against the binding hold the chord had upon her ankle, little achieved. A mysterious figure only a sihollette to the half closed opaques, drew nearer to her, his touch barely noticed as she drifted further into the shadows.
She remained conscious until he draped her arms across the red flotation device, his voice only a whisper which faded to a non existant state to her ears by the last word. Figure was lifeless for the travels back to the sandy earth, suit coated in a thick layer of sand when dragged to safety. His touch was distant as his hands pressured her chest, his lips pressed to hers while exhaling into her mouth, the highly recognised procedure known as CPR. There were moments of silence from the crowd before her lungs were replenished with oxygen, ocean water spurting from her mouth as her eyelids flickered. The amount of time that had passed once she had passed was unknown but this man had revived her, her life handed to her once more. This same event had occured to her only three years before, only the man who had saved her was not the life guard, for her was entertained by a group of females tanning on the beach when another surfer saw her fall beneath the currents.
Coughs were deep and followed by water droplets that had filled her lungs, figure twisted so her crania was facing the ground, soil moist from her laying there during the dramatic seconds. Muscled arms elevated her toso so she could sooth the continuous coughing to a stop, eyes closing once the silence returned and she lay flat once more, cheerishing the return of air to her body.

Chase tried once more, breathing into her mouth and pushing. As his ears were met with the sounds of coughing, he pulled away a bit and watched with a worried gaze as she coughed herself to life. He cleared the crowd away to give her some more room and as she heaved, he placed a supporting hand on the small of her back to keep her up. As he saw the remaining water, he breathed a sigh of relief and watched her for another moment. His eyes still held worry and concern and his hand left her back, not wanting her to grow angry with him.
The crowd dwindled away, leaving the two alone by the water's edge. He gazed up as the emergency vehicle arrived and he stood up, letting the medics do their job. They fixed any cuts she had upon her body and helped revive her a bit more. The talked to Chase off to the side. She was alright, and she didn't seem to need hospital care. She was fit and strong, and it had been simple enough to heal her a bit. So they didn't want to escalate it any further. Chase nodded and glanced over, and he himself was handed a white towel. He rubbed it over his head, drying his longer locks a bit and then threw it to the side, going back to her and sitting beside her.
How are you feeling?

Face had turned pale as she was held beneath the water for an extended amount of time, the color beginning to return as the medics tended to her cuts and minor bruises, feeding her something what she did not know. She accepted it with little worry, knowing that they knew what would be best for this type of situation and she was not allergic to any substances. His hand upon her back comforted her in a way but was ignored after a moments thought, watching him rise as a med ushered him away to speak about what had occured. Her was grateful that the EMTs thought there was no reason to ship her to the hospital, the bill for their services known to her evry expensive.
The male returned after awhile, the paramedics packing up so they would be ready for the next emergency called in, the few questions asked about the female unexpected, figuring they would at least ask for her name, birthday and address but they failed to even do that. Did that step slip their mind? She cared little, each second she was a little closer to returning to the waves, even the near life-taking experience not enough to keep her from them. His voice was soft after her cleared the area around them, distant figures still staring in their direction.
"I feel like I was just held underwater for an hour."
She smirked to show she was joking, eyes flashing to her board which had washed up onto the beach after being released from her ankle by his knife. Her voice sweet but still mildly faint as energy began to regather in her body.
"Thank You so much,"

He too wondered why they hadn't asked her the regular questions that came with an accident. SHe could have amnesia for all they cared. But he heard her words and sighed in relief. He smiled at her comment and couldn't help but laugh slightly. She had a sense of humor even in the worst situations. It was refreshing in a way. He instanly cut off his laughter, having not done it in more then 2 weeks. It wasn't a long time, but he didn't think he would feel another happy moment after what had happened. His face clouded for a moment from the remberance of his past but he cleared it, replacing it with a nuetral look that seemed to accompany him everywhere lately. His face was somewhat drawn from lack of sleep, and circles were visible under his eyes when he was up close, but he wasn't that bad looking. He wouldn't consider himself the best looking guy ever, but he wasn't ugly. He took a deep breath and heard her thanks. He shook his head.
It's alright..I'm just glad I was there to see it happen.
He told her honestly. He thought for another moment. Saving lives in a way helped him bring peace to himself. It helped him believe that he could amke up for what happened, and it wasn't his fault. But there was always that nagging thought in the back of his mind that said it was his fault, and if it weren't for him they would still be here and he wouldn't be stuck at some orphanage until he was eighteen. But he shrugged it away again and looked over at her once more, playing with the sand underneath his hands.
I'm Chase..

Sky blue hues viewed him as his expression lit up then faded, did she do something wrong? Or is she really that much of a bore. She shrugged slightly at the thought, It wasn't her business to figure out, especially after he had saved her from such a terrible fate. Her life continued to travel downhill, with few like him to boost her back up to a stable level and even those who did help did not remain around for long. She still had to find her sister, who would never forgive her for leaving her with the government after they were caught. Ideas interrupted by his kind words, her slender cranium nodding for a response before she spoke again, this time her words were a bit more strong.
"Yeah, I wish I could repay you somehow, but I don't have much to give."
She smiled crookedly shifting her body position, her hand running against his so a faint crimson flooded into her cheeks, fighting to get it to disappear. She knew nothing about him, except for his name and her little accident was interruptng him from returning to his station to watch for others who might fall into the same situation as she.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't be keeping you from your post, I'm Syriana, if you want you can call me Riana. I hope I get to see you again Chase, I feel as though I owe you everything."
She smiled and rose from the sands, arm extended to help him up if he desired it.

Chase noticed that she seemed to grow uncomfortable as his smile faded. He looked at her with an apology. It wasn't her fault at all, but he wasn't ready to tell anyone about what happened. He got repeated flashbacks, but they showed no signs of stopping at all. He took a deep breath and then felt the touch of her hand brush his. He looked down a moment with a small smile to let her know it was alright. He saw the red creep up her cheeks and he still smiled, but managed to clear so he wouldn't embarrass her. Hearing her words, he looked up in surprise as she stood and he started as well, taking her hand gently to not be rude. He got up pretty much on his own though. His hair was tousled, still wet from the plunge, but he didn't care. It was his job, and he loved it. It took his mind off things. He smiled.
You don't have to repay me. It's my job to help people, and it makes me feel good enough to know that you're safe.
He said, knowing it sounded cheesy...but it was the truth. He heard her words and realized he didn't want her to leave, he wanted to see her again. But not now..he got off in two hours, and then he would be free. But he wasn't going to make her wait around for two hours for him, and she might not even say yes. He looked to her with somewhat hesitance and then spoke.
I know we just met and everything, and not under the perfect circumstances exactly, but would you like to go out tonight....It doesn't have to be a date or anything...
He said to her softly. He would give her his number or whatever if she wanted to call him. He would be home pretty much all day after his shift. he waited somewhat impatiently for her reply, adrenaline coarsing through him.

She felt slightly reassured as he smiled back towards her, obviously viewing her uneasiness once he seemed to become less interested in beginning. His expression led her to think it was something of his past, or that had occured before she arrived. His smile broadening as the pink rushed into her cheeks then slightly faded as if he was worried on how she felt around him. The sand where she was sitting was still moist when she stood, the sun beginning to roast the damp area, his words caring and kind. She knew it was his job but she still felt as if she owed the man something, her last savior asking everything of for the month to come, savoring every moment she offered to help. The water on her skin already evaporated to leave a salty film, hair notted from the waves that swirrled above her head when she was sucked under. Here she was in the worst state ever and he asked her out, did she hear him correctly? Instantly the redness returned to her cheeks, eyes flicking in the direction of the ocean to calm her eagerness as she spoke.
"That sounds great, Is there anywhere you would like to go? I mean, I haven't been here for long."
Enamels pressed lightly upon her bottom lip before she glanced back in his direction, he seemed nervous, afraid that she would not accept his offer. She was glad that he stepped forward to ask, something about him snagged her heart, but this was not the only time, the last she was rejected.

He waited for a moment, then figured she had turned him down, since she showed a lack of reply. As he stood, the sun warmed his back and body, tanning his already dark skin. His abdomen was well muscled, and his shorts dripped a little from the edges. They had been in for a long time. He didn't feel chills though, at least not from the cold. But electricity shot up his spine as he heard her answer, and he smiled brightly, nodding in reply.
Maybe one of the main diners? Or the strip?
He offered, not sure what she wanted to do. He would need her address so he could pick her up, and he walked over to his bag, looking over his shoulder to make sure she was following. He went into the front pocket and pulled out a piece of paper and a pen.
Do you mind giving me your address so I can pick you up?
He asked somewhat timidly, not sure if he was being too forward with this. He was starting to like her, but he didn't want to move too fast. THoughts of saving her life were in the back of his mind, and he was focused on the present. Right here right now...

She smirked at his actions after her reply, his expression lightening slightly, lips curled into a brilliant smile. She fought a laugh that was trying to escape between her lips, afraid that it would make him shy away. Butterflies roamed freely in the pit of her stomach, holding off on the trip to retrieve her board to follow him back to the bag, his suggestions all appealing to the young female.
"You decide, suprise me"
She winked after her words, blue opaques grazing over the notebook he removed from the bag, his next words echoing repetitivly through her mind. Her address? The location of her shitty trailer? He seemed like one to own a nice house, maybe a few pets or something of the sort, the kind of male who would be turned off by her residence. Her trailer was well kept and clean but she had neighbors who cared less, was it possible to just meet him somewhere maybe? or have him pick her up infront of some house that wasn't her own? She disapproved of lying, for he had invited her, if he changed his mind later then he wasn't worth the trouble to her.
"Um, yeah... Here."
Arm extended and gripped the piece of paper, biting her lip as her mind puzzled on the thought on how she would write without a hard surface. Knee bent and supplied a form of a table that was difficult to write on but it worked well enough. Fingertips moved the pen so it scribed on the paper what she desired,
'Sunnydale Acres 173 W. Sunflower Drive'
Call me if you need to, 867-1038
She returned the paper to him, crania glancing in the direction of the ocean once more, eyes closing as a thin mist coated her face. Once her attention drifted back to him a smile was molded onto her lips.
"What time do you think? If you want you can just call me when your close instead. See you then Chase."
Before he could really get another word in, she turned away, strides slow as she headed in the direction of her board. It sported several scratches and dents form the reef below, she would have to purchase another once she earned enough from her job, maybe they would give her discounts at the shack. Pace was slow enough so if he still wished to say something else, he could catch her.
