Have you ever been blue? Afraid to see what's right in front of Well, you know It seems to be easier To give it all up and out
She moved through the woods, silently like death. But oh so far from it.She was alive, though her heart shattered like a thousand pieces of glass by a loss so great, but for the time being, she wouldn`t dwell on it.Her green/blue optics gazed around quickly, surveying the forest that spread before her,the green hues mixing together to create one.She wasn`t dressed to impress, her shirt a black 'Red Wanting Blue' band tee-shirt,jeans faded and blotched with bleach stains. Her hair was gently spiked, the orange/blond hue catching the sunlight. She wouldn`t think about it,because if she did ,she might as well give up.Brown hiking boots crunched upon the dirt and leaves, winding her own trail throughout the woods.
When hearts collide like fireflies lost in the shooting star shower I will chase the sunset west to keep the day alive one more hour But I'm eaten alive by the butterflies
So she`ll forget for now, what came from the past or who was missing. The sun was setting, down upon the many hued skies resting above in expanses to vast for her to even try and think of.She let herself go,long muscular legs, covered by dark denim, stretching forward to fall fast upon the ground,as she lept lithely over fallen logs, her hands dirty and smudged with a red dirt. Her lungs pulled in air,her chest aching with wanting for oxygen.Golden light fell upon her when the sun broke through the clouds, and she looked like an angel.A half hour later gaze fell above her, where quiet butterflies fluttered gently,as she stopped and caught her breath. Her heart hurt,a soft dull ache in the many emotions that have plagued her.She was far from perfect, far from an angel,so far from it.She`d made mistakes, she wouldn`t deny, but she never thought she deserved this. She need to run, somewhere, just anywhere and maybe the pain would lose her.But for now she stood, panting for air looking about the clearing she was in,realizing it was close to the road, and not somewhere she wanted to be.But she stayed.
Too late for tomorrow Yesterday's gone Where's today Life seems to be surrounded in this sorrow Can't we bring it back just one more day

He was going to hunt today. That is, until he got here, and saw a sign stating that he was not allowed to hunt in these woods. But he needs the execise--or, wants it, rather--so he put his rifle back in his jeep, and started hiking up the trail. Still shattered by his own recent loss, it's good for Jeff to be able to get out, and be on his own. He loves his kids, really, he does, but sometimes he just needs to be alone. After all, he can't forget if they're around to remind him. He knows he needs to get over it.
He still has on his hunting camo, though, having not brought a change of clothes. He stops and sits on a fallen, rotting log, to look around. He has no knowledge of anyone else in the area.

Licking her lips she calmed her racing heart, closing her eyes for a second to try and fight the wave of nausea that overtook her everytime she tried to think about what could have been, what was,and what would never be.A low tired sigh escaped her lips and she fought back a sob, telling herself over and over she was strong, she could and would survive this. For his memory if nothing else.
Finally able to see straight, she pushed the thoughts even further from her mind and looked around gently, her expression gentle and broken, but had the hint of someone who was good at heart. The only one she had now was Broken, her dog,who was now at home, probably destroying everything she had.She hated to be alone, but at times like these she needed to get away from the ties that held her to her life.

After a quick glance around, and seeing nothing yet, Jeff sighs heavily, and looks down, then buries his face in his hands. He can't--won't--cry. Two months isn't enough to fully get over the loss of someone he'd loved for years, but he shouldn't still be crying, should he? What is the proper time of mourning, anyway? He sighs heavily again and looks up. He goes to lean back but, since there's nothing there, he ends up in a pile of leaves behind where he'd just been sitting, with a thump!. He stays where he is, and just looks up at the tree above him.

Her heart jumped painfully in her chest.Something had moved, somewhere in the woods. She had never been good around wild animals, and was pretty sure she would be scared to death if she ever came face to face with one.Her heart rate quickens and she closes her eyes, hoping whatever, whoever is out there, hasn`t seen her.She begins to walk toward the woods, trying to find her way back from where she came.
Theres a shape in a pile of leaves.A person. She just stares, trying to decide if she should approach or go on as if she never was here. She`s stuck, can`t decide.

Jeff groans a little as he gets up. Though his job keeps him in-shape for the most part, Jeff isn't the youngest man, and is starting to get to where things hurt that didn't hurt before. He gets up, but stumbles a bit, and takes another tumble, this time in the opposite direction, and ends up face-down on the other side of the log. He stays right there. His luck, he'd get up and fall again, but this time get hurt. He's completely sober, though. He's just an idiot sometimes.

She watches, eyes wide but careful. She steps forward, hiking boots trampling the tender leaves and plants. Her steps are cautious, slow and relaying the message that she doesn`t know what the hell she`s doing.
"You okay ?" she finds her voice. Her soft gentle voice, innocent beyond the pain she has endured.

"I'm fine," he mumbles, but in doing so, gets leaves in his mouth. He spits them out, and gets up carefully, then starts the slow, painstaking process of getting all the leaves and leaf fragments off of his clothes. Then he stops, and looks up at her. "Jeff. And you are?" he looks right back down and resumes the leaf thing.

"Caitlyn." she says, watching him carefully. She`s not sure who she can trust.Never sure. She wants to be but she can`t.She takes a step back, biting her lip softly though her expression is utterly calm.
occ blah short.

Jeff glances up twice more, then is finished getting the leaves off of him, and turns to her, looking like he;s thinking. "I recognize you from somewhere..."

She frowns slightly, her murky optics quesitoning. She issues a small shrug and erases the frown."I just moved here.a few weeks ago..but I work up at the police station." He almost looked familar, but she couldn`t say she knew who he was.

"It's alright.." He'd never really talked to her before--maybe seen her a couple of times, but just passed on by, or asked her for a file, but other than that, no. "Can I ask what you're doing here?"

She shrugged gently."Running." she offered." I came to clear my head,I guess." she said, which was true, but the fact was,her head could never be clear, the thoughts piled up,painful thoughts, heartbreaking thoughts that she could not erase.

Jeff nods a little. "Yeah...That usually helps..." It helped him, anyway--when Liz died, first he cried for a week, then he sucked it up, became a better father to the children, and worked harder at his job.

"Seems to." she smiled gently, pushing her hair back, even though it was spiked. She usued to have longer hair, but when he had died, she really just wanted to change, and she had.

"Love your hair, by the way.." He likes it, kind of, but didn't really want to say that. But he also didn't want to just shut up and walk away.

She raises an eyebrow and blushes slightly, though it`s hardly noticable."Thanks." she said, dryly. She shook her head and shifted slightly.
